Arija A.'s Webshrine for Cats
I love cats. This shrine to dedicated to these cute creatures that bring me eternal joy.
# Why Do You Love Cats?
Cats are cute, soft, hygienic, quiet, independent (that's not always a bad thing!), intelligent, sweet, caring, and just great. I'm a proud cat mum and I have made this shrine to share love to cats.
Just look at her:

Silly little goober: what's not to love? Cute ears, cute face, cute nose, sweet personality, warm, adorable, meow :3
# Why Should I Love Cats?
- They purr - scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety (for both you and them)
- They're naturally clean and take care of themselves, so no daily baths needed (unlike dogs)
- Each cat has a unique personality
- They make excellent roommates: quiet, small, and self-sufficient (mostly)
- They provide endless entertainment with their zoomies, loafing, and box obsession
- Their little toe beans
- They're warm!! What else would you need??
- They communicate through subtle gestures and looks that make you feel chosen
- They've been revered for thousands of years - from Egyptian temples to modern memes
- They teach patience and respect for boundaries due to their relatively independent nature
- They look absolutely majestic doing absolutely nothing 💅
- They make your home feel cosy and alive - even when they're asleep 18 hours a day
- Because when a cat chooses to curl up on your lap... you know it's real love
- Idk what else would u need???
# Care Tips
- Always provide fresh water - cats often prefer moving water, so consider a fountain
- Feed a balanced diet suitable for your cat's age, health, and lifestyle. Consult a vet, especially as your cat ages
- Keep their litter box clean - scoop daily, refresh regularly
- Schedule annual vet checkups, even if your cat seems perfectly healthy
- Brush your cat regularly to reduce shedding and prevent hairballs (especially long-haired breeds, but not just! my cat LOVESSSSSSS being brushed btw)
- Give them vertical spaces like shelves or cat trees - they love to climb and observe
- Provide scratching posts to protect furniture and satisfy their natural instincts
- Play with your cat every day, keep them entertained
- Respect their boundaries. If a cat walks away, let them - they'll come back when ready
- Keep toxic plants, foods, and chemicals safely out of reach
- Give them cosy, warm spots to nap
- Understand how to ID your cat: for me it's her eye. But you may even need to consider microchipping. Even if it's an indoor cat, accidents can happen! Young cats have a tendency to run away
- Show love in ways your cat enjoys: gentle petting, slow blinking, quiet companionship, brushing, ...Understand what they like
# Cats vs. Dogs
It's the age-old debate: cats or dogs? Let's look at the facts:
| Trait | Cats 🐱 | Dogs 🐶 |
|---|---|---|
| Maintenance | Low - they groom themselves and don't need walks | High - daily walks, baths, and constant attention required |
| Noise Level | Usually quiet (unless it's dinner time) | Lots of barking, especially when mail arrives |
| Space Needed | Perfect for apartments and small homes | Needs yards, parks, and lots of running space |
| Affection Style | Chill, selective, and sincere - you earn it | Constant enthusiasm - love at full volume |
| Cleanliness | Self-cleaning, litter-trained, and neat | Needs baths and outdoor cleanup duty |
| Independence | Happy alone for hours; values me-time | Separation anxiety is real |
| Energy Levels | Relaxed loaf mode: 18 hours of sleep, 6 hours of chaos | Endless zoomies and energy levels |
| Cuteness | Elegant, photogenic, flawless | Silly and lovable, but not as effortlessly aesthetic |
| Historical Status | Worshipped as gods in ancient Egypt - still act like it | Loyal companions, yes, but never royalty (skill issue) |
Verdict: Cats win!!
