I CAN TELL TIME HAS PASSED BY THE WASH OF YOUR DENIM
THE BLUE NEVER LASTS, BUT IT DOESNT FADE FOR ME

OCTOBER IS THE QUEENS MONTH
I SUCCUMB

you know every single day i do way too much my brain feels like smooth mush after everyday, and sleeping 0-6 hours a day is probably also not healthy, i should chill out
there are a surprising amount of queer people in vilnius and communities too -- ive been volunteering / getting involved in 3 of them :D its pretty nice how i found my people
a few years ago i thought all of lithuania was shit in regards to queer things, though at least vilnius can serve as a sprinkle on a pile of manure, which is better than nothing :p
at least now when i go out i dont get death or other violent threats directed at me AND i found people to coexist with without the need to excuse myself for existing
my hometown is so no in comparison, never going back to that hell xD hopefully never at least, maybe for my cat someday

I like how you don't have to lather yourself in lard and rewrite every piece of software in Rust to have a Spleen. Gets me clapping my hands together like one of those monkey things
i love webmentions maybe i should implement sth like that on my microblog so people could actually interract with my posts outside of mere reactions AND encourage others to abandon modern microblogging platforms for /mblog pages cuz who needs twitter / mastodon / akkoma / bluesky / tweet when u got the indie web
everyday i see so many cute couples,,, when will the universe put me in a situation with a Normal guy 🥀 i should hand out business cards -- Arija - professional hopeless romantic
do u ever wake up feeling like ur the most hideous and broken looking person, i feel ew :-(
but as lady gaga says u were born this way baby so thou shalt love thyself
i should be more #positive

As a Vegan, I think I've finally perfected my dinner: what I eat everyday
A simple, budget-friendly, and protein-packed vegan dinner perfected for dorm life. Enjoy a savory buckwheat-lentil porridge topped with toasted seeds, paired with spiced TVP, sautéed veggies, and a fresh side of apples and cucumbers-no fancy kitchen tools required!
Recently, I found myself considering a job opportunity at a company whose values and some of whose decisions I strongly disagree with.
That raised an uncomfortable question for me: how much should our personal principles influence where we are willing to work?
There are companies whose products, business models, political positions, workplace practices, internal behaviour, or approach to employees may conflict with things we personally believe in. And yet, when you are looking for a job and need an income, the question is rarely as simple as "Do I agree with this company?"
Sometimes the reality is that you can disagree with how an organisation operates and still have to consider working there.
I don't think that necessarily means abandoning your principles, although it does mean acknowledging that acting on those principles can become much harder when economic security is involved.
That seems like one of the more uncomfortable realities of working life: we don't always get to choose between working somewhere we completely believe in and simply refusing to participate.
That conflict exists because we're forced to operate in a system that wasn't built for people.
Companies should be built around people rather than treating people as another variable to optimise for profit. Professionalism shouldn't require removing the human element from work, and company culture shouldn't exist only as a polished statement separate from how people are actually treated.
Maybe the more interesting question isn't whether we can find organisations that perfectly align with all of our values. It's what we do when they don't.
I suspect a lot more people encounter that tension than we usually admit.
re. to prev. - i genuinely get called ai at least twice a day like its pissing me off, every time i open my mouth, write, or communicate in any other way i am attributed to ai, i just ugh xD is this a new slur for people who communicate in a way that people w closed minds cannot interpret, like thats ur skill issue so work on it, i aint at fault 🥴
i hate that LLMs are accessible to everyone now, so people who have a more formal or less colloquial style of communication are immediately attributed to clanker :')
In the context of the modern web, social media gave us unprecedented reach, but it came with a trade-off: uniformity.
Every portfolio, thought piece, project, and achievement is now squeezed into the exact same cookie-cutter UI, scrolling by in the exact same feed.
If you want to stand out in a crowded market, you need a space that actually looks and feels like you.
That is what's driving the resurgence of the IndieWeb -- a movement of creators, developers, and professionals shifting their focus back to personal websites.
Creating your own site gives you the freedom to fully express your creativity, test your technical rigour, create YOUR brand, build YOUR aesthetic, manage the user & recruiter experience.
It takes a great deal of effort, but this shows that you actually care.
Social feeds are designed for amnesia and bury your best work after 48 hours. A personal site acts as a curated library of your experience. Every piece you add compounds its value, creating a permanent archive of your career.
The social web is brilliant for mingling, but your best ideas deserve a home of their own.
Take control of how you network and share what you know.
🌐 Drop a link to your personal site below -- I'd love to see what you've built!
